About
I write about American literature and culture with a focus on the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. I’m currently working on a book about the history of creativity.
I teach at the University of Chicago, where I’m a Harper-Schmidt Fellow in the Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts and collegiate assistant professor of humanities.
My writing has appeared in n+1, New Literary History, Modern Language Quarterly, English Literary History, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and elsewhere.
I also write poetry, which has appeared in Lana Turner, Prelude, and Fence.
